With more than two decades of experience in communications coaching, sales, management, engineering, training, and consulting, Jeff Hornstein has worked directly with over 14,000 clients helping them achieve greater impact and influence by developing their leadership presence through powerful spoken business communication. Jeff and his team work with clients one-on-one, in small and larger groups. Almost all engagements involve very interactive coaching with extensive video-recorded practice along with real-time feedback. Clients walk away feeling more confident when dealing with all communication situations: conveying stronger leadership presence, communicating greater credibility, and producing more results with less effort.
An entrepreneur who built his business to a thriving national training organization serving clients such as Allstate Financial, American Academy of Pediatrics, Baxter Healthcare, CME Group, Discover Financial, Exelon Nuclear, Gallup Consulting, McGraw-Hill, Morningstar, Oracle, Spencer Stuart, IRI Group, and the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, where Jeff and his team have worked with more than 1500 MBA students. Jeff combines analytics and creativity to give each client a highly effective training/coaching experience.
Jeff’s career began in the engineering world. Recognizing the need for client education, Jeff created a training function and associated curriculum which provided new revenue streams and a seminar series for Dukane Ultrasonics. Through this, he discovered his passion for training and began the transition from engineering to communications.
Jeff has a BS in Industrial Technology from Illinois State University and a Masters level certificate in Organization Development from Benedictine University. He has also spent the past 20 years steeped in various forms of transformational education.
Jeff and his wife, Kathleen, have 4 children and live in the suburbs of Chicago. Additionally, he serves on the board of directors for the BHARE foundation - a non-profit organization committed to funding autism research and education. The Speaker’s Choice™ is also a proud sponsor and coach of the St. Charles Angels girls softball team. Oh, and he decided to take up ice hockey fairly recently with no prior experience...and has fallen in love with the sport!
Sue joined The Speaker's Choice is 2009 and brought 16 years of experience in professional development and communication skills training. As Director of Client Services for The Speaker’s Choice, Sue is responsible for developing and tailoring communication skills programs such as the Myers-Briggs Type Inventory™ (MBTI), Social Styles, Emotional Intelligence™, Conflict Management, as well as professional communication skills coaching. She has been a lead facilitator for The Speaker’s Choice’s flagship program, Communicating Credibility™ for the past 3 years and regularly teaches Executive Presence and MBTI as part of the leadership curriculum at The Booth School of Business at University of Chicago.
Sue also speaks on the subject of building trust and emotional intelligence to an array of local and international business groups. Whether working one-on-one or with a group, Sue brings a down-to-earth sensibility and authenticity to all engagements - a combination that delivers dynamic solutions and lasting results.
Sue spent ten years as Director of Training for Spencer Stuart, one of the world's largest executive recruiting firms. In her role, Sue worked with partners and consultants to develop and deliver global programs and solutions to advance internal and external communication skills, effective feedback, conflict management and competency based assessment.
Sue earned a BA in Communications from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. She resides near Chicago with her husband Angus, and their 3 children. In her spare time, Sue is an exercise enthusiast, music lover, and is Co-President & Faculty Advisor - West Suburban Montessori School, Oak Park Illinois.
